    If you list more than 5 bands that the music reminds you of, then you only hear The Warning. Sorry this DJ only does lip gymnastics. And to Joel, you're a nice guy, you have interesting guests from time to time. The concept is good, I like it. But why don't you make a few fewer videos and spend some time with the artists? In general. Übersetzt mit DeepL.

    It will be the most hated comment, but I do not care: Disney Nightwish Fans or Wish Nightwish Fans SHUT THE F*CK UP! All new 2013+ Wacken and after pandemic Nightwish fans are the worst a band can imagine. You and garbage Gabriel Bardac are the main reasons Marko Hietala had enough and left the band. Why? Cause most of You are JUST Floor fans, not NW Fans. 99% of You does NOT respect Emppu, Joukka (1+2 :D), Troj, Marko, Anette, TARJA and Tuomas at all. Oh sorry cause Tuomas is the genious, You all defend Him as Your own pet dog. This song is good, but nothing more. The sound is unbalanced, vocals are undertuned so much and heavy parts are just like trash (metal). I hope this is an average song from the upcoming album. Or You Floor fans will say again, that She did not get Her album, what She deserves. Tell You what fake fans ... Endless Forms Most Beautiful IS Floors very own album. I start to HATE You fake fans. All the last 3-4 Years of Reactors are FAKE as hell too! Gaining fast followers for reacting songs, they have already heard. But You all blind AF. Peace to all TRUE fans of Nightwish who can respect ALL eras of the band and NOT compareing singers, just enjoy music what Tuomas and now Troj can present for us.

    I've listened to both reactions with Spencer - guy is knowledgeable and obviously into music. I am not a fan of Burnout - very late 90s Garbage (among others) musically, though vocally it comes across as Yeah Yeah Yeahs and a couple of other indie bands. I have those already BUT I also am not a fan of Hell You Call a Dream (studio) but LOVE the Pepsi live version. So I may actually really like this as well (live version). Automatic Sun is my current studio favorite from Keep Me Fed. Their change is necessary for their evolution as performers - they are learning quickly, and with Lava's help, what is wanted out in the real world. Their rock style (combined with another 8 genres and stylings) won't cut it for major airplay. The contemporary transition will help push them (as has already been seen with Sick) towards radio recognition, and therefore sales. But for me QotMS will always be my number 1 album, at least until they release Teatro Met 2022 LIVE (wishful thinking I know). Cheers from OZ Joel - look forward to your next rabbit hole guest 🦘

    Yes; on a basic level this is an extremely simple and radio friendly sound. But then, they have built this whole album around "simple and fun stuff we want to listen to and especially play". It's not that complex or "deep" (as Pau puts it)... and deliberately so. They are exploring different sounds and musical techniques - all while in the middle of back-to-back touring schedules. However, I'm always taken by the fact that no matter what they do, it's still recognizably _The Warning_ . You can't really mistake them for anyone else - nobody composes music arrangements quite like they do, even when they are "playing around" somewhat. I've loved everything they've released thus far on KMF, and am sure I'll enjoy the other half of the unreleased album. Also... haven't we all known someone like this song describes?? In my case, it was an old roommate...

    Any Warning song would be better than most of the music I've heard on the radio here in So Cal in the last few decades. These girls are set to be on Jimmy Kimmel's show, He used to work at KROQ (before it imploded) Can't stand him anymore but I'll make an exception to see the Warning!

    Hey Joel, guess who is performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, come June 27th at 11:30pm EDT on ABC. Their album releases the next day, probably at midnight!!!!👀🚀👏⚡️Black Diamond taped a good version of Blackout performed live in Japan. It was awesome, Dany did some great guitar work on it. Even when they make these songs more radio friendly, TW turn it into something rockier and edgier when performed “live”!!!🔥🔥⚡️

    • @balthusT1
      @balthusT1 3 години тому

      I would say because there is some contention around this song and the fanbase and some reactors (including Joel). Personally, I'm not a fan of this track - musically very Garbage like from the mid - late 90s (but I do think that Dany's vocals are better than Shirley Manson's) and I fell in love with TW with QotMS and Teatro Met 2022 (fuck I wish they would release a live album of that concert). AS is probably my favorite track from Keep Me Fed, HYCaD is my favorite LIVE track (currently) from KMF (again not a huge fan of the studio version) which really point to them being a LIVE band (everything I've heard, the live versions are far superior). So with Burnout - does the guest believe that this track could do well on radio (which he sort of affirms) would be the reason he played it (as you already noted - Sick is currently at #8 so no need to ask him the same question here. Awesome work ladies). And this is the reason I also believe for the change in direction from The Warning (their evolution requires this - this is how they find their niche spot, their sound, and ultimately success and recognition) As for the video - its by the fans (and TW) for the fans, but I also think it detracts a bit from who they are. No problem from me for doing this but I think an official MV should be at least a bit serious when you're chasing the Gold. Cheers from Oz🦘

      You need to stop with this constant negative Nancy BS (I have seen many instances from you). 1. He can play whatever he wants, it's his channel, not yours. 2. You don't know when this was recorded so the video may not have been out yet. I know you are passionate about the band but there is no need to be rude and disrespectful. Save it for your own channel. You are representing TW fans and these types of comments put us in a bad light with some reactors. The few rude holds more weight than the many polite. It would be much better to replace the "Why the hell...." and "Damn this and that" to something that is a polite opinion or constructive, like "Just my opinion but I think a better representation may have been XX". I can't stop you from commenting whatever you like but I hope you stop to think about WHAT you are saying in the future and the impact of your choice of words.

  • @danz114j
    @danz114j 4 години тому

    I think that calling Tuomas's compositions "songs" is what's misleading: if you're expecting the " intro - verse - chorus -verse - chorus -outro" and done sort of thing I can see how it's going to sound strange to you. In their case you generally have musical suites made of a lot of different elements that pulled together create a story, so I think you need to change the reference parameters when judging their music, they are really different to most other stuff.

  • @yeticatcher

    Good reaction here. I heard this song again recently in a live fan cam recording in Osaka, Japan, but without all the “production” and let me tell you, it sounded great. Dany’s guitar work was amazing getting those riffs perfectly and her vocals spot on. Ale’s buzz groove with the slides so well placed and Pau’s drums so deep in the pocket, making the rhythm section shine. The Warning keeps showing us that live, they just can’t be beat.

    Very astute insights into the type of sound they put forward, possibly their intent, but from "safe" onward he is incorrect and this is due to him not not being familiar with the band. For a band this young, going through stages most bands never experienced, I find this song a progression along the way of their development. I agree, radio friendly songs are not my cup of tea either, but I understand their desire to reach a wider audience especially if the rock world is not being as reception as we think they should be.

    I love how in a lot of these covers Tamu always throws in an Easter Egg tribute to the original drummer, which she does her for the late Munetaka Higuchi who unfortunately passed away at 49 from cancer (RIP). Its so cute!🤗 Anyway they all sound great, I'm loving hearing more of Haraguchi's low end that thumps a lot harder without the layer of 2nd 7 string gu!tar. I also love that classic 80's tone from Hazuki, matched with the throwback shredding, and of course Mayu sounds as great as ever!

    In the 8-0's Akira Takasaki was called the Japanese EVH, which is a lazy take imo because Akira has his own unique style, specifically how he can alternate pick arpeggios in a sequence that's usually swept and it still comes out as cleans as if you were sweeping. Saki and Hal-Ca from Asterism use this method a lot. Its crazy to me because it looks chaotic and doesn't look like it should sound that clean. Fun Fact about Saki; she's the only artist endorsed by Killer guitars, a brand started by Akira and distributed by ESP. The Killer brand name is a homonym taken as a jab on how Japanese pronounce their "L"s like "R"s. So saying ki-LL-er sounds like Ki-RR-er which is a homonym on Takasaki's 1st name, (A)kira. A Killer➡Akira. I've heard that came from Akira being described as "a-killer" (a-kirrer) guitarist, but not 100 sure on it.

    No offense but your dj fan is full of crap. I remember hearing the corporate approved crap he played on KROQ (which hasn't been "rock" since the late 70s). One of the Warning's newest songs, love it or hate it, is in the top 10 in the states. Maybe he needs to get out of his little bubble. They announced today that they will appear on Kimmel on the night before their album release. Not everyone in Los Angeles knows who they are, but if you are "an industry person" you have probably at least heard of a top 10 song....

    So Joel, here’s the question for you: The Warning is playing the Bellweather in October. I know it’s in your neck of the woods. Are you going? 🤘🤘🤘

    Just hit #1 recently on Billboard Rock charts. This makes both EC and Babymetal first #1 hit. The thing that strikes me about Babymetal is their willingness to take risks. Things that shouldn't work on paper here. Have really turned into some f*** bangers. However, this to me just feels like everything what Babymetal & EC are all about. One of the best collaborations I've seen in years. Then Momoko's growks added in just made it epic as f****!!I have also heard Su- Metal wants an all female metal festival as well. Having mentioned Evanscience, Arch Enemy & Nightwish at the top of her list. Su is no fool here and just reiterates what your guest already knows. Su understands the importance of bringing in more female fans. Which Babymetal has most certainly done as just ask my 14 year old daughter lol. 😭💕 So f*** yea, sign me up!! 🤘🦊

    If your buddy is looking for Mexican Ska, look no further than Maldita Vecindad playing the song Pachuco. It’s a Mexican alternative rock band from the 80’s & 90’s.

    ChatGPT figured out what this song is about when I just put in the lyrics and asked for a summary ""KOOL AID KIDS" is a song that critiques societal conformity and the pressure to suppress individuality. It uses the metaphor of drinking Kool-Aid to symbolize blindly following harmful norms and accepting oppression. The lyrics highlight how easy it is for people to be cruel and conform, driven by fear and regret, and how this cycle of behavior is perpetuated. The repeated reference to drinking Kool-Aid emphasizes the continuous nature of this submission and loss of self."
